  • #SlamRadio - 641 - Beste Hira
Beste Hira is an adventurous, strong-willed and motivated DJ and Producer living in Amsterdam, originally from Istanbul. Her character traits, combined with her creativity and discipline, define her as a unique talent. Music has been a huge priority her whole life: she focused her entire high school and university path on it, most specifically with the cello and piano as her main instruments. She graduated from Ondokuz Mayıs University with a degree in Music Education / Conservatory. During the early days of her career, she started producing and DJing in Istanbul before she decided to move to Amsterdam in 2019 to pursue her vocation as a techno talent. Within electronic music, Beste Hira identifies with the hypnotic, fast paced and dark side of techno. Her extensive musical training can be heard throughout her music production and DJ sets, where she meticulously experiments with sounds to produce her signature, and, most importantly, having an incredibly accurate intuition allows her to play out of her comfort zone and surprise some of the most challenging crowds. Beste Hira enjoys creating a full sensory experience in her performances, which results in captivating journeys from beginning to end. Her knowledge and experience as an artist have allowed her to grow in Amsterdam's eclectic underground scene, supported by key Amsterdam-based crews such as Awakenings, Vault Sessions, DeSchool, Amsterdam Open Air, 909 and many more. Beste's presence in Europe is growing rapidly, especially after becoming a regular at the mighty Berghain and other top notch clubs in capitals like Vienna, Madrid and Paris. Creating podcasts for communities based in Miami, Mexico, the UK, Europe and Turkey has allowed Beste's voice to reach global audiences and has continually shaped her growth as an artist. Cos, the first EP she released on her own, allowed her to break through the scene and opened doors for her debut at the renowned underground Schimmer Records. She's got a lot more coming up, including projects that integrate her classical background. • #SlamRadio - 640 - Yamila
Argentinian-born and Milan-based, Yamila’s personality was moulded by South American tribal rhythms, progressive rock synths, and dreamy sounds from alternative and electronic music. Shifting her choir experience into her sets, vocals and chorus became a core feature of her musical identity: a proper voice in the flow designed for the dancefloor. After 5 years of delving deep into Berlin’s techno culture, she brought back in Italy her emotional approach to music, slowly paving her way into the electronic music scene both as an organiser and a DJ. In 2021 she became resident DJ and active member of Closer, an authentic institution for inclusive and immersive party seekers: playing at Masada and Amelia, collaborating with high-calibre crews such as Bassiani, Tresor, Fuse, Vault Sessions and Meat Free, and sharing the booth with exquisite international DJs allowed her to develop a tight bond and an extraordinary sensitivity towards the dancefloor and its fluctuating moods. A mélange of evocative descriptors encapsulates Yamila’s auditory signature: passionate beats, uplifting grooves, peak-hour frequencies, drum-fuelled rhythms. But most of all, the essence of her sound cross-pollinates a wide spectrum of feelings and emotions, framed in an ethereal atmosphere and directed to touch your soul like a loving caress. • #SlamRadio - 639 - DJ Shufflemaster
Tatsuya Kanamori quickly became one of the few Japanese techno producers to rise to worldwide prominence within the late 90's techno scene with his productions and remixes as DJ Shufflemaster. Originally a committed member of the Tokyo-based label Subvoice, where he released several of his early EPs, Kanamori's reputation outside of Japan was greatly aided by his affiliation with European techno heavyweights such as Adam Beyer, Joel Mull, Ben Sims and Carl Lekebusch. It was no surprise that Berlin-based Tresor knocked on the door and offered Kanamori the opportunity to record her first full-length album. In 2001, he appeared via Tresor, a full-length LP packed with a string of dancefloor-oriented techno productions featuring Kanamori's trademark aesthetic, making him one of the first Japanese techno producers to achieve worldwide recognition. • #SlamRadio - 637 - Clarisa Kimskii
Brooklyn-based DJ and producer Clarisa Kimskii has cemented her musical footprint on the borough since moving back in 2022. Through a palpable blend of psychedelic and driving techno, Clarisa’s approach to the genre is deeply idiosyncratic - an assemblage of both timeless and modern grooves. As a producer, Clarisa has contributed to a handful of respected labels (Monday Off, Dusk & Haze, Mysteries of the Deep, etc.) within her sonic niche, but it’s through her own label L.A.G where the ethos of her sound truly takes form - a detailed variation of propulsive and atmospheric soundscapes. Clarisa is deeply rooted in the techno subculture’s underground, the 20+ year veteran is a regular at city’s premiere institutions like BASEMENT or Nowadays. Clarisa used to be a resident DJ at Brooklyn-based Merge from 2022-2024. Her pure, yet passionate approach to DJing has graced the decks of memorable nights at international institutions in Tresor, Berghain, Ratherlost or Blitz, and at notably iconic parties in Wrecked, Club Toilet, Pornceptual, and The Bunker NY. Recent festival appearances at Taiwan’s Organik Festival and North America’s Honcho Campout, Draaimolen, Rural Festival and Sustain-Release have only elevated her reputation as a force within those respective communities. The saga continues with juicy bits on the horizon.
