  • How You Are Hustling Is All Wrong: The Secrets to Your Fulfilment (with Sahil Bloom)
Eeeeeep hi friends, welcome back to the 10th (!) episode of ✨ Finding your Casual Magic ✨ This week we're redefining wealth. What does it mean to be rich? How can society's definition of wealth actually lead us to feeling unfulfilled? To help me answer this I am joined by Sahil Bloom. Renowned entrepreneur, investor, writer of the newsletter ‘The Curiosity Chronicle’, and most excitingly, debut author of an upcoming book called ‘The 5 Types of Wealth’. Sahil has interviewed thousands of people around the world to redefine wealth in 5 compelling ways. I open the episode with a guided meditation to help you feel grounded before launching into the episode. From prioritising energy-creating tasks to unlocking more time in your day, creating deeper bonds, and building a powerful network to achieving financial independence, this conversation will remind you of what is most important in life. The episode closes with my ‘Casual Magic of the Week’ and we hear from Mar (@marumithreads on Instagram) who shares their Casual Magic, followed by intention setting for the week ahead. Grab a journal or open your notes app and join me as we ask ourselves: What went well this week? What am I proud of? What is something that challenged me this week? Based on these reflections, choose a one-word intention for your coming week. I just want to send you this reminder that no matter where you are in your self-confidence journey, no matter how you might feel today, you are always enough. 💛 Find Sahil on Instagram and YouTube: https://linktr.ee/sahilbloom Get Sahil's book 'The 5 Types of Wealth': https://www.amazon.co.uk/Types-Wealth-Transformative-Guide-Design/dp/0008623201 Learn with Lingoda: 10% off + 45 free classes with code NEWYEARMAGIC: https://try.lingoda.com/NewYearMagic [ad] (all thoughts are my own and I GENUINELY can't recommend Lingoda enough!!) • Why Doing Less is Better: How to Master Slow Productivity
Eeeep hello friends, welcome back to the ninth episode of ✨ Finding your Casual Magic ✨ Today we're talking about slow productivity. How to be a high functioning, productive powerhouse of a human who gets everything done, but also lives with slowness and ease and most importantly, joy. There is nothing more frustrating than being told to just relax and be happy when you have a million things to do on your plate. So I'm not going to do that today, instead I am here to acknowledge that we are all busy people with a lot to do. So what is slow productivity? Slow productivity is not about doing less, nor sacrificing the quality of your work or the speed with which it's done. It’s a mindset and a set of tools to work in a more intentional, mindful way that allows space for true rest and reflection. Because what you'll find as we dig into this episode is that the more we rest and the more that we slow down, the better we learn and digest information, the more creative we are and the better that our overall quality of work is. I just want to send you this reminder that no matter where you are in your self confidence journey, no matter how you might feel today, you are always enough. 💛 Timestamps: 00:00 Introduction 02:27 Guided meditation 04:48 The rise of burnout and hustle culture 10:06 Personal reflections on productivity and success 14:42 Rebuilding a mindful approach to productivity 18:28 Personal and cultural incentives to overwork 22:59 The relationship between money and happiness 24:44 Personal turning point post-university 27:40 Realisations from silent meditation 31:15 Introduction to mindful productivity 31:31 Importance of understanding your menstrual cycle 34:14 Embracing seasonality in productivity 35:12 Practical advice for mindful productivity 39:08 The art of saying no 44:02 Time blocking and scheduling breaks 46:32 Mindset for Slow Productivity 48:02 Handling Stress and Maintaining Productivity 49:05 Nostalgia and Applying it to the Present 52:00 Managing Expectations and Self-Worth 54:07 Defining What is Enough 55:00 Acknowledging Stress and Finding Relief 56:22 Casual Magic of the week 59:05 Weekly Reflection and Setting Intentions Links: Slowing Down as the World Speeds Up: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/the-gift-aging/201812/slowing-down-the-world-speeds Employee Burnout Report: https://www.indeed.com/lead/preventing-employee-burnout-report Overwork and the rise of slow productivity: https://www.deccanherald.com/education/overwork-and-the-rise-of-slow-productivity-1204058.html 16 Employee Burnout Statistics You Can’t Ignore: https://everyonesocial.com/blog/employee-burnout-statistics/ ‘Rest is productive’: How slowing down at work can help you get more done: https://www.cnbc.com/2023/01/06/how-slowing-down-at-work-can-help-you-get-more-done.html Why Downtime Is Essential for Brain Health: https://health.clevelandclinic.org/why-downtime-is-essential-for-brain-health The Paradox of Pace: How Taking It Slow Enhances Productivity: https://akiflow.com/blog/slowing-down-can-speed-up-productivity/ Problems of Practice: https://practices.learningaccelerator.org/problem-of-practice/how-fast-should-we-be-moving-from-pilot-to-scale-what-will-help-us-best-achieve-sustainability If you’d like to be featured as the Casual Magic of the week: 💌 Notice a moment of casual magic in your week. Hiii friends, welcome back to the eighth episode of ✨ Finding your Casual Magic ✨ (I’m so excited for this guest episode eep!) Today we are talking all things self love!! The relationship we cultivate with ourselves, how we talk to ourselves behind the scenes, and how this can then impact the types of relationships we attract and how we go about making our dreams come true. Do you struggle to say no when someone asks you to an event that you don't want to go to for fear of what they'll think of you? Tam Kaur is a self-love guru helping millions of young women become the most empowered versions of themselves through her motivational advice videos on topics from dating to healing, to her heart to hearts on her podcast ‘Self Obsessed’ and the wisdom shared in her new book ‘Buy Yourself the Damn Flowers’ Tam blends actionable advice with meaningful anecdotes to help you become the best version of yourself. I start the episode by leading a guided meditation to help you feel grounded and aware before we launch into the topic of self love exploring spirituality, relationships, shifting mindsets, self development, childhood, post university life and of course YouTube. The episode closes with the ‘Casual Magic of the Week’ which myself and Tam share before hearing from Elena who shares their Casual Magic followed by intention setting for the week ahead. Grab a journal or open your notes app and join me as we ask ourselves… What went well this week? What am I proud of? What is something that challenged me this week? • When Seeking Validation Needs to Stop: Can Insecurity Evolve into Confidence?
Why hello my friends, welcome back to the seventh episode of ✨ Finding your Casual Magic ✨ DISCLAIMER: This episode discusses body insecurities and unhealthy relationships, listener discretion is advised. In this episode we’re talking about the magic that is self confidence!! At the time of recording I have never felt more confident in who I am. I wear what I want to wear and show up in the world in ways that feel extremely authentic. I feel like I have undergone so many challenges and looked at so many of my insecurities or things that I felt shame about and I just feel like the way that I now exist is authentically me and it feels so good. Of course, I still wake up often feeling insecure and of course I still have days where I enter old patterns of thinking but in general, if I zoom out and take a step back, I do feel, dare I say it, confident. To start the episode I invite you to do a short guided meditation to really enter this space with me and let whatever's happened in your day settle. I then share some facts on the topic of self confidence, sense of self & self esteem, looking at a few different definitions and some research about confidence in the field of cognitive psychology. I then launch into the episode focusing on how to walk through the world with confidence answering the questions: how do we build trust within ourselves to navigate challenge? How do we build a trust that we can show up authentically in spaces where maybe that feels scary to do so and to trust that everything will be okay to have this intrinsic safety within ourselves, even when the external world presents challenges to that? I close the episode with my ‘Casual Magic of the Week’ and then we hear from Aparajita who shares their Casual Magic followed by intention setting for the week ahead. Grab a journal or open your notes app and join me as we ask ourselves… What went well this week? What am I proud of? What is something that challenged me this week? Based on these reflections, choose a one word intention for your coming week. I just want to send you this reminder that no matter where you are in your self confidence journey, no matter how you might feel today, you are always enough. 💛 Links to research mentioned: What Self-Esteem Is and Is Not - Nathaniel Branden What Is Self-Confidence? • Why Eve Cornwell Left Law: daring to disappoint the world for your own happiness
Hiiiiii friends, welcome back to the sixth episode of ✨ Finding your Casual Magic ✨ (another wonderful guest episode!!!) This is the tandem episode to last week's which was all about finding your purpose. How do we know what to pursue in our lives? How do we know if something is the right path for us? And what do we do if later down the line, the path that we thought was what we wanted maybe doesn't serve us anymore? Today I am SO excited to be interviewing my dear friend Eve Cornwell, who has a lot of answers to these questions. Eve became known for wanting to become a lawyer. She started vlogging at university while studying law and amassed a huge audience with her unique editing style and original storytelling abilities, I can always remember being so immensely inspired by how creative and high effort her videos were. But whilst the world knew her as this ambitious trainee lawyer, I was lucky enough to know her as Eve, one of my funniest, bravest, impact driven friends. She has also been a huge role model for me in learning to embrace my sexuality and queerness. In this episode, I open with a short guided meditation before we talk all about Eve’s journey. From quitting law, going offline, coming back online, owning her queerness, her YouTube journey and getting married we cover it all. I close the episode with my ‘Casual Magic of the Week’ and then we hear from one of you guys followed by intention setting for the week ahead. Grab a journal or open your notes app and join me as we ask ourselves… What went well this week? What is a little joy that you can celebrate? What is something that challenged me this week? Based on these reflections, choose a one word intention for your coming week. I am so grateful that you’re here and I hope you love this episode, and if no one has told you today, you are enough. 💛 Follow Eve on Instagram: evecornwell Timestamps: 00:00:00: Introduction 00:01:02: Introducing Eve Cornwell 00:04:16: Guided Meditation 00:05:54: Eve's decision to pursue a career in law 00:08:46: The reality of law school and its impact 00:11:33: Eve's expectations of her training contract 00:13:30: Sacrifices in the legal profession 00:15:50: Staying in law despite the challenges 00:16:22: Eve's online presence and its impact on her legal career 00:18:16: The conflict between YouTube authenticity and legal professionalism 00:20:14: Realising the misfit with being a lawyer 00:21:00: The identity crisis during the legal career 00:22:48: Navigating a queer discovery journey 00:23:29: Conflict with maintaining online presence and legal career 00:30:08: Embracing career change and discomfort 00:31:06: Product management and finding a fulfilling career 00:32:10: Separating purpose from career 00:35:16: Articulateness and academic prowess in law 00:36:33: Journey to embracing queer identity 00:37:52: The Journey of Queer Self-Acceptance 00:38:33: Proposing to My Girlfriend 00:40:03: The Challenge of Reclaiming Marriage 00:43:25: Redefining Queer Rituals and Norms 00:44:44: Embracing Queerness in a Heteronormative Workspace 00:47:18: Words of Wisdom and Advice on Queerness 00:50:02: Advice for Career Changes 00:56:14: Current Joys and New Hobbies 00:56:40: Introduction to climbing 00:57:16: Casual Magic of the week 01:00:18: Weekly reflection and intentions 01:02:26: Closing thoughts and wisdom If you’d like to be featured as the Casual Magic of the week: 💌 Notice a moment of casual magic in your week. Acerca de Finding Your Casual Magic

Casual magic is about how we find beauty in the mundane everyday. It's learning not to wait for joy at the end of our achievements, but to find contentment NOW in every single day of our lives. It’s that first sip of herbal tea in the morning, a smile from a stranger, or the way the light comes into your bedroom. Noticing trains your brain to redefine joy. Stay tuned for alternating episodes — one solo, and then a tandem ep where I bring on a guest to expand from a new angle. I want to serve up my vulnerability to softly encourage you to do the same. Welcome to this cosy corner! Jade x
